Having managed to secure funding from Awards for All, Lincolnshire CC
and Grass Roots we started three exciting projects in 2009.
- Another fantastic year of music club in Gosberton Risegate.
2009 saw the children writing, playing and recording their own songs
then writing, filming, producing and directing their own video!
(with a little help from us!) We had a record number of 70 children
attending during the year and the project kicked off with a bang!
- We delivered several family learning projects
with workshops throughout 2009 at Parent and Toddler groups at three settings:
Busy Bees in Gosberton Risegate, Little Tots in Gedney Hill and Quadring Mother and Toddler group.
- Scarlet became Trinity Guildhall Arts awards advisors, so starting in February 2009
we ran an arts awards group for young people of 12 – 25 years.

We completed a fantastic project in Gosberton Risegate!
The children wrote, played, recorded, and filmed their own pop videos!
The 3- 7 years song was called ‘SEASIDE adventure’ all about holidays and
the 8 – 11 years wrote ‘BFF – Best friends forever’ about their group.
They performed the songs and had a video screening of the DVD for family and friends over 2 days.

2008 was a fantastic year for SCMC. |

Another brilliant project at Gosberton Risegate
finished with a wonderful performance of ‘Musical Mayhem’
featuring performances from The Lion King, Grease and
High School Musical. We also ran several summer and
winter ‘out of school’ music weeks, and a number of
one-off workshops and projects throughout the county.

Development and future plans |
|
We hope to continue to deliver music and performing workshops, particularly
in rural areas of the county as well as developing vocal projects, in line with the music manifesto recommendations.
We hope to deliver more and varied music workshops to a larger number of young people,
particularly targeting those who would not ordinarily get the opportunity due to lack of access,
finance or confidence. We plan to develop and train new music facilitators, and to educate,
inspire and motivate all that are involved participants, music leaders, trainees, staff and volunteers alike.
We continue to expand the areas and projects that we are able to deliver
to particularly developing vocal and multicultural music projects.
We assist all of our music leaders in their own professional development
by way of support, training, experience and information.
For further details of any of these projects please call SCMC on 01775 841750.
